  • Ice dams — Ice dams are frozen chunks that form in your gutter and the gaps in your roof where water is allowed to pool. Ice dams can cause serious damage: they can warp your gutters and render them useless, or break apart shingles and force moisture into your home. Look in your gutters and check your roof for excessive ice buildup. If this has happened, call a contractor to discuss having it removed and prevention in the future.
